This is the whole staff fundraising page for our Cumbria Way event.
22 members of staff are running 112km along the Cumbria Way to raise money for children and families in the Ukraine, QES and QEStudio.
They are running the route as a relay; each participant will run a section of the route until they meet the next runner who will then continue on the trail. The 112km route starts in Ulverston and passes through Keswick. It is a popular walking route, and it was devised by local members of the Ramblers Association in the 1970s.
On this occasion they are fundraising for two causes. 50% of the fundraising will go towards UNICEF for the Ukraine Crisis, where 7.1 million children still need urgent help. The money will help protect some of these children, provide emergency supplies, maternity kits, essential vaccines and even exercise books to help them continue their education in times of crisis.
The other 50% will go towards the LLT School Fund. Since its inception, the School Fund has helped countless pupils from our local communities. Amongst the ways this fund is used are; subsidising resources, uniform and school trips and visits for pupils from lower income families, funding academic mentoring, funding intervention sessions, supporting IT provision, drama, dance, sport and music events and external speakers and workshops.
The staff members who are taking part are looking forward to taking on the challenge and would like to raise as much money as possible to support these invaluable causes.
The more we raise, the more impact the money can have.
Thank you so much.
