We are very pleased to announce the exciting news, that our annual Community Walk will take place on Thursday 18th July 2024. We aim to complete this 13 mile trail with all of the pupils from across our two schools. We hope it will prove yet again to be a challenge for many, a valuable social event, and a useful fundraiser. The ethos of the Community Walk is that pupils can enjoy a day together (hopefully in the sunshine), appreciate our wonderful local environment and contribute to their community by making a small contribution of £3.00 through MCAS but also aim to fundraise and gather as much sponsorship as possible! Half of this money will go to local charities (which pupils will be given the opportunity to choose) and one half will go to the school access fund which provides equipment and opportunities for pupils with limited resources. We welcome pupils who would like to ‘go the extra mile’ and collect sponsors on top of their £3.00 contribution, a sponsor form has been emailed home to all parents and carers. The day is organised by staff who will be marshalling the route and a large number of staff will also be walking with the children. Taking a route to Devil’s Bridge, High Casterton, Brownthwaite, Bull Pot, Barbon Beck, Barbon, Underley Estate and then back into Kirkby Lonsdale & QES. With many thanks for your continued support, Cathy Harrison On behalf of the Community Walk Team: Kate Vose, Angela Coulton, Andrew Douglas, Jo Jackson, Michelle Peck, Claire Tillotson, Jane Teasdale, Callum Bell, Victoria Goven, Felix Brook-Thompson, Lu Wilson, Ian Taylor
